Break It To Me Gently

Well it's been a few days since I wrote and 3 days (or so the Wii reminded me) that I have been on it. There's no excuse and I am disappointed that I haven't kept it up.
Even the kids haven't used it as much, but I think that will change once I announce that I have again completed the "Lotus" exercise. 180 seconds of sitting absolutely still! No wonder the kids can't do it.... they never sit still.

Had To Take a Day Off

Well, I missed a day on the Wii and I feel very guilty but was for a good reason. I have over used a muscle or too and could hardly walk up and down the stairs. What is worse is that my family has surpassed my records to the point where in some cases I am not even in the top 10 scores. Now I have some major catching up to do.
The more we "play" with this toy the more we enjoy it. Although, word of warning. If you have never "boxed" before, DON'T try to be Rocky! I just learned (as have the muscles in my arms and shoulders), it's not how hard you strike that counts, but how accurate you are. Holy friholes!

Day 4: Starting to Feel the Pain

Ok so this morning I did my workout. First of all, note to self. Try to do the workouts at the same time of day. It really screws up your BMI readings if you don't. Secondly, try to wear similar weighted clothes. If possible wear the same ones so that you don't have to worry about inaccurate readings of weight and BMI.

Today I tried some new strength building exercises - some kind of painful knee bends. The interesting thing is that I always thought that I knew how to do these. It isn't until you have something monitoring where you are placing your weight that you realize just how wrong you were doing it. Wow, did I feel some pain on that one.

I have to say, only 3 days into this regime and I am already noticing some difference, particularly in my legs.

Day 3 - Ok, So I am a Wii Bit Competitive!

Interestingly my kids still think that this is a toy (lol). Me, I don't think of this a exercise - yet. I am competitive by nature so all I want to do is beat the pants off my kids and husband. I just have to beat their scores. That competitive nature goes a long way. Apparently my kids have inherited the same competitive gene. Every time I go to do my 30 minutes, one of them have done theirs and beat my highest score. So of course I have to do better. This is leading to a lot of sweating!

Super Hulla - who the "hella" invented this one (lol)? OMG I never knew I was so uncoordinated! Funny how the hips can go in one direction easier than the other. This is a great work out! I managed a score of 450 which of course my daughter beat this morning and now I have to reset the record!

Well if nothing else, I have managed in 2 days to drop my BMI by .1 % (better than nothing).

Co-ordination Counts

Ok, so here's the deal. I was skeptical. How much exercise could one really get from a "toy"? Holy moley! I can't believe the workout you can get from this! I was sweatin' up a storm - and feelin' kinda embarrassed - at first. That's when I was "informed" this is actually exercise - but it really doesn't seem like it. It is way too fun to be exercise.

And then there is my family. I have 2 kids that spent the better part of 6 hours "exercising". To them it is a game and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The sheer entertainment factor of watching your 8 year old son do the hoola hoop was hilarious! I never laugh so hard in my life.

I have set myself a pretty aggressive goal to loose 10 pounds in a month. I will keep you posted.

My Wii Blog

In addition to my passion for my Stampin' Up! direct sales business, creating greeting cards and scrapbooking (check out my
website
and blog), I have recently developed an interest in getting in shape.
My husband has always had a passion for games and when he purchased the Wii I had no idea how much fun I would have with it. Now with the introduction of Wii Fit, I will not only be able to have fun, but get back in shape.
